5. Leaving valuables behind
Travel mistakes people do – Leaving valuables, such as a laptop or expensive watch, behind is one of the most common travel mistakes. Before you leave for your trip, take photos of all your valuables in case something happens.
This way you can prove ownership if anything goes missing while you’re away. You can also label all your items with your name and phone number in case they’re lost or stolen.
Label smaller items by putting them inside of a Ziploc bag and labeling it on the outside. Put them into another larger bag and seal it shut before placing it into your suitcase so that nothing falls out.
A final option is to get insurance for any expensive goods you bring on vacation, which will cover up to $1 million per incident. If this doesn’t seem like an option worth taking, remember that accidents happen even when we’re at home!
