The incident occurred on Tuesday morning, amidst a marathon event organized by the community to celebrate the Yuletide season. The sporting event, which commenced on Monday, took an unfortunate turn the following day when a dispute arose over the 3rd position.

A disagreement escalated into a physical altercation, prompting a vigilante officer to discharge his firearm in an attempt to restore order. Tragically, the misfire resulted in three casualties, with two individuals identified as Benjamin Adaji and Abdul Abbas losing their lives on the spot. A third victim survived and is currently undergoing treatment.
