This commendable feat occurred less than 24 hours after Governor Usman Ododo’s visit to the institution, during which he reassured parents of his unwavering commitment to the safe return of their abducted children.

The rescued students are presently undergoing medical assessments at healthcare facilities. Additionally, a local hunter and a DSS operative, who sustained injuries during the rescue operation, are currently receiving medical treatment at the same facility.

According to Fanwo, the rescue operation ensued when local vigilantes and security forces engaged the kidnappers in a fierce encounter. The kidnappers, overwhelmed by the superior firepower, fled with gunshot wounds, leaving behind the students who dispersed to evade capture.

Numerous students, along with other captives, have been liberated and are receiving necessary medical care, with security personnel diligently searching the forests to ensure the safe return of all kidnapped individuals.

The state government lauded the bravery and gallantry displayed by the local hunters and conventional security forces during the operation. Special recognition was extended to the DSS for its effective coordination based on credible intelligence.
