A popular market called Ohumanaka in Okengwe – Okene Local Government Area of Kogi, has been shut down by the Ohi of Okengwe-Ehi, (HRH), Ahmed Tijani Muhammed Anaje.
This he said followed the discovery of an exhumed Corp in the market at the wee hours of Sunday, 17th April 2022. The traditional ruler said the ugly incident threw the people of Okengwe-Ehi into tears, describing such as barbaric and a crime against the people of the land.
HRH Ahmed Anaje said the Market which was closed on The market was closed in totality on Tuesday, 19th April 2022, was part of proactive measures to restrain the people from hindering security agents perform their responsibility.
The Ohi of Okengwe-Ehi called on the State Government to expedite action at bringing perpetrators of such inhuman act to book.
The traditional ruler appreciated the people for their prompt compliance to the directive, praying God to help market men/women regain the profits they would have made as affected by the urgent directive.
HRH Ahmed Tijani Muhammed Anaje requote that a stitch in time saves nine, hence the need for the directive to close down the market. He charged the people to be more vigilant, advising the people to aide security personnel with information that will help track and pin down perpetrators of the act.
