Afolabi Joseph-Raji, the Executive Secretary of the Kogi State Scholarship Board (KSSB), revealed that an impressive number of students from Kogi state origin in higher institutions have applied for the State’s Bursary Award for the year 2024. The application numbers exceeded expectations, with over 40,000 students having applied since the registration portal was officially unveiled on April 16.
The bursary award, known as the “Ododo Students Support 2024,” is exclusively for students of Kogi origin currently enrolled in tertiary institutions nationwide. Despite the high number of applications, Joseph-Raji announced that the application deadline has been extended from April 30 to May 20, 2024, allowing more eligible candidates to apply.
Joseph-Raji encouraged eligible students to register promptly through the designated portal or visit the official website of the Kogi State Scholarship Board for further details. He emphasized the importance of taking advantage of this opportunity and urged all students of Kogi origin in tertiary institutions across the country to apply.
Following the application phase, the next step will involve the uploading of documents and the verification of students’ data from their respective schools. Joseph-Raji assured applicants that the disbursement of the scholarship fund to verified students would commence promptly after the completion of data verification.
He reiterated the administration’s commitment, under the leadership of Gov. Ahmed Ododo, to enhancing the welfare of Kogi students, emphasizing that the bursary award reflects the government’s dedication to supporting educational development and ensuring equal opportunities for students from Kogi state.
