In a significant operation, officers of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) have successfully neutralized Isa Dei-Dei, a notorious bandit, in a suburb of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The operation was conducted following intelligence received by the police’s intelligence response team regarding the hideout of a notorious bandit group in the FCT on Monday.
According to Muyiwa Adejobi, the force spokesperson, upon arriving at the scene, the bandits attempted to flee, prompting the operatives to engage them in a fierce gun duel.
During the exchange of fire, Isa Dei-Dei, the notorious bandit, was neutralized, while other members of the syndicate managed to escape, albeit with gunshot injuries.
Adejobi urged the public, particularly medical practitioners, to report individuals presenting with gunshot injuries to the police for further investigation.
The successful operation comes amidst a recent surge in kidnappings in Abuja, the nation’s capital. In one such incident on January 2, bandits abducted Mansur Al-Kadriyar and his six daughters from their residence in Zuma 1, Bwari area of Abuja. While Al-Kadriyar was later released by the bandits, his daughters were held captive until January 21 when they were finally freed after spending 18 days in captivity.
