The Nigerian government has responded to widespread concerns by extending the deadline for 2024 Hajj registration, offering intending pilgrims more time to complete the sacred journey registration process. This decision, endorsed by the Federal Government, follows inputs from religious leaders, State Pilgrims’ Welfare Boards, agencies, commissions, governors, and other stakeholders.
Mrs. Fatima Usara, Assistant Director of Public Affairs at the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), officially announced the deadline extension in a statement released in Abuja. The move is aimed at accommodating the enthusiastic desire of a larger portion of the faithful to participate in the spiritually significant pilgrimage of Hajj.
Originally slated to close earlier, the deadline for 2024 Hajj registration has now been rescheduled to January 31, providing individuals with an extended window to partake in this sacred journey. This decision reflects the government’s commitment to ensuring inclusivity and facilitating the involvement of a broader spectrum of the faithful in the pilgrimage experience.
