following the news we previously brought it to your notice this morning, that a newborn baby was dumped on the street in Ogaminana Adavi Local Government Area of Kogi state this morning, a new report confirmed that the baby has been adopted by the Local Government Chairman of Adavi LGA.
The Executive Chairman of Adavi Local Government, Hon. Joseph Omuya Salami has adopted 1-2 month-old baby boy found in a polythene bag at ECSSO in Adavi Local Government Area. The baby boy was presented to the council chairman this morning by the community leader, alongside with Local Government APC Party Chairman, Hon. Barnabas Oyibo.
Hon. Joseph Omuya in his generous way of giving immediate attention to urgent issues, adopted the child and handed him over to one of the nurses who volunteered to take care of the baby. The council boss donated some amount of money for his upkeep, disclosed that he is going to adopt the baby and accept him in as his own child.
The council boss in his words, acknowledged that children are blessings from God, and it’s a bad attitude to bring a child into the world just to be dumped in the street.
“We should be available to cater to the needs of our kids before bringing them into the world. They deserve all the necessary care from us as a parent.
“Let me commend the neighborhood and the good Samaritan for saving this innocent child’s life and bringing him to my notice. May God Almighty will reward everyone who has contributed in one way or the other to protect the child”, the council boss concluded.
