Alhaji Muritala Yakubu Ajaka, the gubernatorial candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Kogi state, has hailed the declaration of Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan as the legitimately elected Senator for the Central Senatorial District as a triumph of democracy over the desperate forces of anarchy.
In response to Barrister Akpoti-Uduaghan’s victory over Abubakar Sadiq Ohere of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the Court of Appeal, Ajaka emphasized that the judiciary has once again rekindled hope that electoral victories obtained through violence and manipulation are only temporary.
“The world witnessed how your clear victory was shamelessly overturned by the desperate forces of anarchy, even though you won in four out of five Local Government Areas in the Central Senatorial District. They believed they could carry out their daylight heist without consequence,” Ajaka stated in a congratulatory message conveyed by his spokesman, Hon Faruk Adejoh-Audu.
Ajaka praised Akpoti-Uduaghan’s indomitable spirit and the judiciary’s commitment to delivering justice impartially, thus bringing an end to the era of electoral impunity in Kogi State.
He noted that her accomplishment has further strengthened his determination to overcome the undemocratic forces that have turned elections in Kogi State into episodes of violence and manipulation.
Describing her as a “genuine lioness” who conquered a fictional predator claiming to be the “White Lion,” Ajaka made a pointed reference to State Governor Alhaji Yahaya Bello, suggesting that the true lion has now been identified.
