Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, representing the Kogi Central senatorial district, has strongly denounced the recent assault on Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH), Osara, during which several students were abducted by armed assailants.
Expressing deep concern, she demanded enhanced security measures, labeling the attack as “regrettable and intolerable,” emphasizing that innocent students should never be subjected to such horrifying acts.
Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan emphasized the imperative to safeguard educational institutions from such assaults, urging security agencies to ensure the prompt release of the abducted students and to bring the perpetrators to justice swiftly.
She extended her full support and assistance to facilitate the safe return of the students and underscored the necessity for preemptive measures to avert similar incidents in the future.
According to reports from the university, the attack occurred at approximately 8:23 pm on Thursday, May 9th, when gunmen raided the university premises situated in the Adavi local government area of Kogi, abducting an unspecified number of students who were preparing for their first-semester examinations.
