The National Association of Kogi State Students (NAKOSS), Kogi State Polytechnic chapter, has officially opened a students’ relaxation centre on the Lokoja campus of the institution. The project, commissioned on Saturday, was named in honor of the institution’s Rector, Professor Salisu Ogbo Usman.
Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, Comrade Adekunle Kuburat, President of NAKOSS (Kogi Poly chapter), highlighted the project as a testament to collaboration, dedication, and vision. She emphasized that the relaxation centre underscores NAKOSS’ commitment to students’ well-being and academic success.
Comrade Kuburat noted several other achievements by the Kogi Polytechnic chapter of NAKOSS, including the replacement of whiteboards in various halls and the renovation of institution signboards. Additionally, solar street lights were installed at the Itakpe campus to enhance student safety and campus security.
She expressed gratitude to Professor Salisu Ogbo Usman, the school management, and key personnel such as Dr. John Adaviruku Alyu (Dean of Student Services), Engineer Adamu Abdullahi Anyi (Director of Works and Services), and Mr. Idoko Ojonumi Felix (Director of Physical Planning) for their support and contributions to the project’s success.
Comrade Kuburat also commended the executive members of NAKOSS for their cooperation, hard work, and dedication throughout the project’s execution.
“This project represents more than just a physical structure or a new initiative. It embodies our association’s values, mission, and purpose. Let us celebrate this achievement but also recognize the responsibility that comes with it. Let us continue to work together to ensure the success and sustainability of this project,” she concluded.
