Mother Cries for Help as 32-year-old Daughter Goes Missing in Kogi

Mrs. Ramot Yakubu, a native of Okene, has publicly appealed for assistance following the mysterious disappearance of her 32-year-old daughter, Hamidat Abdulrafiu. Hamidat went missing after leaving home on June 18, 2024, to meet a customer in Lokoja, Kogi State.

According to Mrs. Yakubu, Hamidat, a businesswoman who sells unisex clothing, became unreachable the day after she left for Lokoja. Despite efforts to trace her, including following a lead to Abuja, no reports of kidnapping or accidents have been found. The family has reported her disappearance to the police, but so far, there have been no positive results.

“She called me when she arrived in Lokoja, but by the morning of the 19th, she stopped responding to my messages. Her phone has been unreachable since then,” Mrs. Yakubu explained.

Hamidat’s sister, who studies at the Federal University in Lokoja, confirmed she had not seen her elder sister. Neighbors reported that Hamidat left her residence around 8:00 PM on the 18th after receiving a phone call, leaving her belongings, including food, untouched.

The police officer from Adavi Police Divisional Headquarters, John Stephen, confirmed the incident, stating, “According to her family, nothing of such has happened where she would go for days without returning home.”

Mrs. Yakubu urges anyone with information about Hamidat’s whereabouts to come forward as the family continues to search for answers.
