Following the recent inauguration of the new Governor of Kogi State, a key appointment has been made with Muiz Yinus Abdullahi, SAN, assuming the position of Attorney General/Commissioner for Justice in the state. The announcement was made by the newly sworn-in governor, signifying a strategic move to enhance legal representation and justice administration within Kogi State.
Muiz Yinus Abdullahi brings a wealth of legal experience to his new role, having previously served as the Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Lokoja Branch. Notably, he holds the prestigious title of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), a recognition conferred upon him in 2022. Abdullahi is distinguished as not only the first SAN from Kogi State University (KSU) or Prince Abubakar Audu University (PAAU) but also the inaugural product of the institution to be appointed as the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice.
Having been called to the Nigerian Bar in 2005, Abdullahi is a pioneer member of the KSU Law Class of 2004. His appointment is viewed as a historic milestone, reflecting his dedication and contributions to the legal profession. J. U. Okpanachi, Esq., President of the “KSU Law Class of 2004” and a former NBA Chairman, Idah Branch, expressed confidence in Abdullahi’s capabilities, describing him as a dedicated and committed legal practitioner.
