Ahmed Usman Ododo, the Governor of Kogi State, has emphasized the need for improved electricity power supply within the state, calling for collaboration between the state government and the FGN Power Company to achieve this goal.
During his visit to the FGN Power Company headquarters in Abuja on Friday, Governor Ododo commended Kenny Anuku, the Managing Director/CEO of FGN Power, and the company’s management for their ongoing interventions in Kogi State. He highlighted the pivotal role of reliable power supply in driving the state’s industrialization agenda.
Governor Ododo emphasized Kogi’s significance as a central hub for industrial activities in Nigeria, attributing this to the state’s conducive business environment, effective tax administration, robust security network, and sound economic policies. However, he stressed that sustaining existing industries and attracting new investments hinges on consistent and adequate power supply.
Asserting that power is crucial for socio-economic development in Kogi State, Governor Ododo expressed the administration’s commitment to deepening its partnership with FGN Power to address electricity challenges. He underscored the importance of continuous collaboration in delivering electricity to industries and households across the state, emphasizing the state’s readiness to leverage any available opportunities for enhanced power provision.
In response, Kenny Anuku assured the governor of FGN Power’s dedication to supporting Kogi State’s quest for improved power supply. He acknowledged the state government’s proactive approach and spirit of partnership, pledging to intensify efforts to meet the state’s electricity needs.
Anuku encouraged the state government to participate in FGN Power’s Investment Program, designed to enhance distribution infrastructure and optimize power distribution within the state. He reiterated the company’s commitment to fostering mutually beneficial partnerships and reiterated its readiness to collaborate with the state government to achieve shared objectives.
