An Illustrious son of Kogi State and the branch chairman of the National Union of Air Transport Employees (NUATE) Abuja,  Comrade Ahmed Abdul Yusuf has been conferred with Chartered Fellowship Award from the International Association of World Peace Advocates (IAWPA) and appointed Eminent Peace Ambassador, Global Diplomat category, Ebira Online Media reports.

IAWPA, a world class organization with United Nations gave the conferment  at the National Merit House, Maitama Abuja FCT, on the 25th October, 2021 to celebrate UN @76 and Nigeria 61years of membership with United Nations.IAWPA as a group among other things mobilizes communities to play  active parts in development, promote peace, relief and development initiatives, increase opportunities for diverse social groups and facilitate dialogue; contributes to knowledge sharing and encourages people to be the first actors of change.

Congratulating the awardees and encouraging them to be great ambassadors of IAWPA,  International Director of IAWPA, His Excellency Ambassador Chidi Ehiriodo told the awardees that there was a lot for them to do and explaining to them the many duties they need to perform as Peace Ambassadors.

He also said it is an appointment for the recipients to start working to create global peace.In receiving the award, Comrade Yusuf said, ” This is a rare privileged and honor to be appointed an Eminent Peace Ambassador.

I shall use my knowledge on peace building to ensure peace in my nation and the world at large. This is also time for me to act locally and think globally. I shall empower individual and communities where people will be encouraged to be the first actors of change and conflict managers.

Yusuf, a staff of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has served 19 years with the agency and is presently a Principal Aviation Security officer ans Chairman NUATE FAAN Branch, Abuja.

Other notable awardees were; His Royal Highness Alh. (DR) Yahaya Abubakar, CFR Etsu  Nupe Kingdom who won the International Peace medal award 2021, Captain Paul Adamu Nwachukwu (RTD Pilot) and Aisha Ahmad Ndanusa, Deputy Governor Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) who were also conferred with charter fellowship awards.

International Association of World Peace Advocates (IAWPA) is a civil society arm of the United Nations with the mandate to promote peace and appoint people as peace makers across the 193 member states of the United Nations.
