In order to change the orders allowing Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi, candidates for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Labour Party (LP), to examine election-related materials, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has petitioned the Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPC).
In a move on notice submitted on March 4, INEC asks the court to modify the ruling prohibiting it from tampering with election-related materials.
The Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) needed to be modified, according to the commission, in preparation for the upcoming election.
Recall that the court on Friday granted both candidates’ request to have access to all the sensitive materials INEC deployed for the presidential election won by All Progressives Congress presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu.
