A train traveling from Abuja to Kaduna State derailed at Asha station in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) on Wednesday, causing significant disruption to operations and passengers’ travel plans.
The incident occurred around 4:00 pm, shortly after the train departed from Kubwa station in Abuja, leaving numerous passengers stranded. One passenger, speaking to newsmen, expressed frustration, stating that the issue is not being addressed with the required urgency by the relevant authorities.
This derailment is the second such incident in two weeks. On May 26, a train traveling from Rigasa station in Kaduna to Abuja derailed in a mountainous area near Jere, causing three carriages to go off the tracks. Fortunately, there were no casualties in either incident.
