Today marks the solemn anniversary of Sheikh Muhammad Amin Okene’s passing, a revered figure whose departure left a void in the hearts of Ebiraland, Nigeria, and the Islamic community. Back on Thursday, May 25th, 2017, we received the sorrowful news of his demise.
Throughout his extensive tenure as a prominent Muslim cleric, Sheikh Amin embodied a spirit of tranquility, extraordinary wisdom, and an unwavering commitment to reconciliation. His profound understanding of Islam made him an invaluable source of knowledge and guidance for the Ebira people and beyond.
The loss of Sheikh Amin Okene has undoubtedly left a significant void within the Islamic community, as well as the entirety of Nigeria. His departure arrived at a time when we were benefiting from his profound wisdom and that of other esteemed leaders, as we worked tirelessly to foster unity among Muslims in Ebiraland. It is our sincere hope that we, who have had the privilege of hearing his sermons, will endeavor to emulate his great works and actively promote unity and peaceful coexistence.
