In a poignant farewell message, the outgoing Deputy Governor of Kogi State, Edward Onoja, has addressed the people of the state as he concludes his term alongside Governor Yahaya Bello. Known as the siamese twin of Governor Bello, Onoja played pivotal roles in the administration, serving as the pioneer Chief of Staff and later ascending to the position of Deputy Governor after the impeachment of Simon Achuba.
Despite having aspired to succeed Governor Bello, Onoja lost in the party primaries, and the mantle was passed to Ahmed Usman Ododo, the flagbearer of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Onoja expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the people of Kogi State in a message shared on Facebook. He acknowledged the privilege of serving the state for the past four years, describing it as the opportunity of a lifetime. He conveyed his appreciation for the lasting impact the remarkable journey had on his life.
In his message, Onoja extended his gratitude to the citizens of Kogi State, emphasizing that those who have had the privilege of serving in different capacities owe their successes, prayers, and support to the people. He urged the citizens to extend the same level of support to the new administration led by Alhaji Usman Ododo and Comrade Joel Salifu Oyibo, encouraging everyone to contribute to their success.
The outgoing Deputy Governor reserved special thanks for the citizens, acknowledging their support, compassion, and understanding. He expressed eternal gratitude and concluded the message with blessings for Kogi State and the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
