Dr. Idris Omede, a former National President of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), has been officially announced as the deputy governorship candidate for the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the upcoming Kogi election scheduled for November 2023.
Dr. Omede will be running alongside Hon. Leke Abejide, the governorship candidate of the ADC, as part of a joint ticket. Following a successful upload of his name to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) portal, Dr. Omede has been officially substituted for the previous placeholder, Dauda Onoruoiza Usman, as confirmed by a party source.
The source further revealed that the party plans to officially unveil Dr. Omede next week, marking the beginning of his campaign journey. Dr. Omede brings a wealth of experience to the political arena, having previously served as the Health Commissioner in Kogi state and as the National President of the Association of Professional Bodies of Nigeria (APBN).
