The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) has taken action against Sahad Store, a well-known supermarket located in the Garki area of Abuja. The management of the supermarket has been accused of shortchanging customers by charging prices higher than those indicated on the shelves.

The enforcement action was carried out by the FCCPC Acting Executive Vice Chairman, Adamu Ahmed Abdullahi, following preliminary investigations that confirmed the allegations of price manipulation.

Speaking to journalists during the operation, Abdullahi stated that the supermarket would remain sealed until further investigations are conducted. This action comes amidst heightened concerns over food hoarding and crisis, with President Tinubu unveiling plans to address these issues.

The FCCPC’s intervention underscores its commitment to safeguarding consumer rights and ensuring fair business practices in the marketplace.
