The statement from Dr. Sanusi Ohiare, representing the family, emphasized the former Senator’s commitment to serving as an elder statesman for the unity, peace, and development of Egbiraland and Nigeria.

Meanwhile, the Kogi state government has initiated the succession process for the Ohinoyi of Ebiraland.

Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Barr Deedat Ozigi, confirmed the development, stating that the ministry interfaced with the Ebira Area Traditional Council to begin the succession procedure.

The newly formed committee of King Makers will scrutinize applications from eligible candidates, with recommendations expected by December 15, 2023.
