In Ebiraland, where traditions are deeply rooted, the cost of getting married has shot up. Just a few months ago, the bride price was around N70,000, but now it’s soared past N80,000 in February 2024.
But marriage isn’t just about money. Both Islam and Christianity teach us that. The real meaning of marriage lies in love, commitment, and respect, not in how much money you have.
In these tough times, it’s important to remember what marriage is really about. It’s about two people coming together because they care for each other. Money is important, but it shouldn’t be the focus.
