Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on Monday stopped his convoy to rescue people who had been involved in an auto crash along the airport road on Monday morning in Abuja.
Mr Osinbajo and his security aides were joined by other Nigerians to pull the victims from the vehicle. A witness sent in a video from the scene, initially saying the sucrash was the vice president.
It was not immediately clear the severity of the accident on the Nigerian leader.
The Nigerian leader was on his way to Ondo for a condolence visit over the massacre of Catholic worshippers on Sunday morning, according to his office.
The crash comes three years after Mr Osinbajo survived a chopper crash in Kogi.
