Hudu Kwasakwasa, a prominent community leader, confirmed the harrowing incident, revealing that the worshippers were targeted during the second raka’at of the salat. The sudden attack prompted panic among the remaining worshippers, forcing them to flee for their lives.

This horrifying event follows closely on the heels of another banditry incident in the same area, where the perpetrators abducted nine individuals from the community of Angwar Kanawa under the Kwasakwasa jurisdiction. Concerns have escalated as the bandits continue to brazenly raid communities without encountering any resistance.

The tragic assault on worshippers occurred less than 24 hours after another disturbing incident in neighboring Chikun Local Government Area, where over 287 students were abducted by bandits. Despite the gravity of these events, neither the State Government nor the Police Command have issued official statements regarding the mosque attack.

Efforts to reach the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Mansir Hassan, for clarification proved futile, as he was unreachable via phone and had not responded to text messages at the time of reporting.

As the community grapples with grief and fear in the aftermath of this senseless violence, urgent calls for intervention and security reinforcement echo through the affected regions. The need for swift and decisive action to confront the escalating banditry menace has never been more pressing.
